Connect The Thoughts is pleased to make available a series of informative, forum-style webinars on education, provided as a free service to homeschoolers. Each webinar is approximately one hour long, and discusses a specific educational issue which will be announced up to two weeks in advance on this page.
Each webinar is hosted by Steven Horwich , the author of Connect The Thoughts, and a professional educator for almost four decades. Steven has taught at a public High School (LAUSD), at various universities including U.S.C., and at private schools for over 12 years. He has also taught private workshops for actors, singers and writers since 1972. In 1998, he started writing creative writing courses for a private school, and delivered them to 50 students, ages 8-17, to great success. In 2002, Mr. Horwich started writing the Connect The Thoughts curriculum full time, and operated a small private school for one year to test out, or "pilot" the curricula. Outside of his teaching life, Steven is an Emmy and Dramalogue award winning writer/director/composer.

I just wrapped up listening to
your webinars on the CTT site and wanted to say a very
heartfelt thank you.
Your ideas and thoughts were very awakening. There
were several times when felt jolted by the truth and common
sense of what you were saying. I especially loved your
interaction with guests. Your answers were poignant and
creative, and I think you helped those struggling parents
tremendously.
I hope that you will continue to do more of the
webinar format. Now that I have found CTT--FINALLY, I am
eager to learn more.
Thanks for all you do and share.

We listened to the Webinar
today as a family. We absolutely loved it.
I have a kinesthetic learner and really appreciated
the caller and the advice you gave regarding tailoring
education to the child as well as the message of "not every
child needs to be good at nor exposed to every singe
subject". It helped release me from the clutches of the
'tape in your head' you both mentioned. Thank you!
As an aside, your endorsement of 'no homework for
homeschoolers' has erupted a battlecry from my children,
lol. I recently began assigning homework when they don't
finish what they were assigned within the school day. I may
(with some resistance) reconsider this. They love you
Steven!!! No homework, no home work (said in the classic
'Attica' cadence). Feel free to add in the sound effects of
the rhythmic fist pounding on the table as they chant, lol.
Great Job!

Thank you Steven for the podcast yesterday. I was one of the brave souls that called in concerning my 11 year old son. The opportunity to be able to speak with you and explain my concerns about homeschooling was very comforting for me. Sometimes I second guess myself and need the reassurance that everything will be ok. Thank you for all your concern and advice, you were very helpful. My son will start the creative writing class tomorrow. I explained to him what you said and he agreed to start it. The entire podcast was very helpful for me, I even listened to it again today.
