STARTER SCIENCE
First, we'd like to
recommend that you watch the video that you'll find toward
the top of this page. It will provide you a thorough
overview of our Starter Science Program. Then read
this article. Then please have a look at the
description for each course we offer at this level, and the
samples provided for each course.
Our science courses at each level are secular
science. We do not ever attack religious beliefs, but
we do not present them in our science courses. These
are straight science.
Like history,
Starter Science
is presented in an experiential manner.
The most basic of basic scientific ideas are presented and
explored by the student. The methods used in
Science
and
History
are identical.
Science
should be done two times a week, and each semester will
consist of multiple courses to be done in sequence. For
example, the first semester consists of three courses,
dealing with the ability to observe, to determine the
difference between fact and opinion, and the nature of cause
and effect. These are bottom-line understandings one must
have to start to learn modern science. The exercises are
fun and creative, and keep the student active.
Our first science course for ages 5-6. Lessons which help the student understand the bottom line basic of science, that one must observe and differentiate to understand.
For ages 5-6. A Science course about how science is based on the idea that a fact requires proofs, and that a belief does not. Science operates on facts, just as other areas such as religion operate on faith or belief.
These 7 unique and highly creative lessons teach students ages 5-6 that causes create effects, and that effects are born of observable causes.
A fun course for ages 5-6, filled with photos and links to interesting films about water on Earth.
A hands-on approach to geology, weather and global problems that the student will find fun and informative.
A thorough introduction to life on earth integrated with an approach intended to steadily improve developing reading skills. For students ages 5-6, and for pre-literate students.
A course that develops literacy as it shows the student the solar system, Milky Way Galaxy and the Universe in a fun, hands-on way.
Covers the ideas of cause and effect; energy, matter, force and their interactions; atomic thoery and other key points of physics in a fun, hands-on manner that never talks down to the student.
From paper and nbooks, to computers and cars, from plumbing to electric light, toasters to CD players, shovels to excavators - the student is introduced to the history and current state of those tools and machines that he/she will be using each day ot that make their modern life possible.
