ABOUT OUR PARENT/TEACHER/TUTOR PROGRAM

VIDEO: Introduction to our Parent/Teacher/Tutor Program

This set of courses is for YOU, the parent, teacher or tutor.  These courses utilize the book Poor Cheated Little Johnny as the core of a program intended to prepare you to secure far more effective results at teaching, whether you're in a homeschool, or in a school.  Please note - You will need to purchase the book (available HERE on this site), to do these courses.  It is the "textbook".

This program is "the other half" of Connect The Thoughts, the teacher part of our curricula.  We have all been thoroughly indoctrinated into the failed methods and ideas used in education for over 100 years, now.  These courses break through that failed system, demonstrating its failings and developing teacher tools which will help the teacher truly succeed with the student, perhaps for the first time.

Each course is around 15 lessons long, and will take you about 10-35 hours to do.  There are ten courses in all, though the final course is specifically about using Connect The Thoughts with your student.  (It's free )  The first course is also free.   Here is a brief description of each course:

The Goals of Education Course

The first course in a series of 10, designed to profoundly improve the goals and methods of education used by a parent who is homeschooling, or a teacher or a tutor in a homeschool or school environment.  This course can be bought independently, or as part of the first bundle.

The program next includes four courses covering GENERAL PREPARATION TO TEACH:

Education vs Schooling, Evaluation vs Admiration, Guiding vs Teaching Course

We've all been taught that critique and evaluation are central to education.  We were lied to.  There is a far better and happier way to educate, and this course not only covers that method in detail, but prepares you to successfully employ it.

Setting Standards for Your Student vs National Standards Course

Every nation establishes standards for education.  These standards are incredibly destructive of the individual student and his potential.  In this course, you'll learn about national standards, what they are, and why they don't work.  You'll also learn how to establish personal standards for education for your students that will allow them to truly win.

Testing & Grading – A Better Way To Do Them Course

Tests and grades have been an integral part of the "critique-based" method of education since its inception.  They don't work, not at all.  They degrade the student, teacher, and educational system, and result in very poorly educated students, unfit to take a place in life, and unsure of their own potentials and skills.  How can we take these tools and turn them around?  Get the theory, and then hands-on training in developing and using tests in a manner that will help ensure your student's real success.

Preparing Yourself to Teach Course

You're the teacher.  Teaching is an ancient and noble profession, to be cherished by a civilization – when the teacher's work actually results in young people who are truly being empowered, growing in vision, understanding, knowledge, experience and skill in a manner that will allow them to take a central role in our nations.  Learn the theory, and develop hands-on skills that will help you gain great results as a teacher.

A second group of four courses will cover SPECIFICS TO SUCCESSFULLY HOMESCHOOL, though the same ideas and principles would be of real use to a private school, or an extraordinarily flexible and responsible public school:

The Homeschool Day, Curricula, Extracurricular activities and Homework Course

You are homeschooling. That makes you not only a teacher – but also an administrator!  Develop an understanding of the administrative skills needed to succeed with your homeschoolers, and gain hands-on experience with those skills.  How can you, as an administrator, maximize extracurricular time and activities, and minimize the incredibly destructive drag of heavy homework assignments?  How do you, as an administrator, best service your student or students?  This course is oriented to create results directly and immediately with your homeschoolers.

Targeting & Using Homeschool Resources Course

You're homeschooling.  Where do you find the curricula you'll need, the books, the films?  What other resources will be required, and how do you get them.  How about field trips and extracurricular activities, where should you go, how do you make that work?  You have a limited budget, how do you pull off homeschool?  Or you have an impressive budget, what might be some productive ways to invest it in your student?

Socialization in the Homeschool Environment, Succeeding At Education In Spite Of The Culture Course

Socialization, the "buzz word" used, along with pointed fingers, to stigmatize homeschoolers.  You've heard all about how homeschooled students never learn to "socialize".  Well, a bigger lie does not exist in the education world.  Learn the truth, and gain skills and methods to make sure that your students are "socialized", and to "handle" those who object to homeschool on this basis.

Homeschool Groups and How To Do Them Course

One of the best ways to homeschool is in small groups of anywhere from 2-10 students.  This solves the "socialization" issue for all time, provides additional resources which a single parent or family may not be able to provide, and makes the whole job a lot more interesting, productive and fun.  Understand the ideas behind such a group approach, and then do the hands-on step-by-step things needed to form a group, with the assistance of this course.

And the final course:

Teaching Connect The Thoughts Course

The final course, a freebie, focuses entirely on how to use the techniques learned from the previous nine courses, in conjunction with Connect The Thoughts. If you have not done it, please get your free copy and do so, at http://www.ConnectTheThoughts.net/parent--teaching-ctt.php

To discover more, please look at the pages for each course.  Each one presents a brief video describing the course, as well as samples and descriptions.

We hope that you'll find this program of great use, and that it improves forever the way we all teach and learn.

When first presented, we offered the first course 'The Goals of Education' for free as way of introduction to our Parent/Teacher Program.  Though the video may state that the course is for free, it no longer is available for free.  Thank you!
