This is the second course in our Parent/Tutor Teacher Program. As is true of all of the courses in this program, you will need the book Poor Cheated Little Johnny to do the course.
We've all been taught that critique and evaluation, testing and grading are central to education.
We were lied to.
There is a far better, more productive and happier way to educate. This course not only covers that better approach in detail, but prepares you to successfully employ it. The key is found in the course's title. There is a real difference between education and schooling, between guiding a student and teaching, and certainly between the uses of a critical or evaluative approach in education, versus an approach that is based on.
This course helps the teacher really understand both approaches, how to avoid the critique-based methods we've all been exposed to for over 100 years, and how to replace it and focus on a real education based on admiration of the student and for his accomplishments.
There is no more powerful tool available to a teacher than admiration, which is why this course is made available as the second of ten. Most of us believe in some form of the Golden Rule – but it is rarely applied to how we treat students! This course will help you open the door to a far better working relationship with your students, and will help enable you to produce better results as a teacher.
