Here you will find articles authored by Steven David Horwich on the subject of education.  Steven is the author of the entire Connect The Thoughts curricula.  Over the years that these courses were developed, Steven was asked many times to explain his own ideas about education.  To that end, these articles were authored and have been collected here for your consideration.

You can find out a lot more about the curricula by looking through our site.  Using the menu that runs across the top of this page, you'll find links to the four age groups and literacy groups that we service.  You'll find many videos through this site explaining how Connect The Thoughts teaches each age group and each subject.  Each course is described, and samples are provided.  Additionally, there are many more articles and success stories on our site.

Steven is also authoring a book about education, and is currently unveiling it chapter by chapter,  You'll find a link to that blog on this page.  The blog's name is Homeschool Hows & Whys, but it is all about education, not just homeschool.  Please feel free to take a look!

Please note that until August 2010, our Curricula for ages 5-8 was called 1st Step.  This curricula is still sold as 1st Step in some places, but on our site it has been completely integrated in with Connect The Thoughts, as it was always intended to be.  You may see references to 1st Step in various of the articles.
