AN OVERVIEW OF THE CONNECT THE THOUGHTS™ PROGRAM

Welcome to Connect The Thoughts!

We offer a complete curriculum, excluding math. What is "curriculum"? It is "everything one studies". A "complete" curriculum would be one in which all the important subjects were covered thoroughly. Connect The Thoughts™ offers programs that will satisfy the needs of almost any serious home school student, and has been doing so successfully for over a decade.

Our courses are designed to be used in several ways:

This curriculum works best with students who read well for their age group. That said, students literacy and vocabulary improve rapidly while using our courses, and many students have been seen to "work up" to the level the courses require as they worked.

We offer a non-Faith based curricula. Science is taught as science, and no religious viewpoints intrude. Religion is covered extensively in connection with history, but we cover every major religion and philosophy without bias, its history, beliefs and practices, so that the student becomes as familiar with each major religion as they will with every area of science, politics, economics, etc. These are the forces that shape our world, and an educated person should understand all of them so as to be equipped to make informed decisions.

Each course includes the appropriate tests that allow the student and anyone assisting them to easily evaluate what has and has not been learned. The tests and answer guides are carefully constructed to target exactly where in the materials the student may need to re-study, in order to achieve 100% understanding of the course subject. We do not suggest "grading" tests, but simply using them as tools to help perfect the student's understanding.

Our courses are constructed to be "self-contained" in the sense that there is little or no "after school" homework. This works well for a home school" situation, but it also can streamline and make more effective a classroom situation. 4-5 hours of school per day should be sufficient if one is using a concentrated, focused curricula, if one is challenged and if the student is truly interested. These courses are designed so that EVERY STUDENT MAY MOVE AT THEIR OWN PACE through every subject. This is particularly important if you are working with more than one student, if your student is particularly bright, or if your student is remedial in some way!

Often our Science and History courses use other resources (such as films, or outside texts), very carefully integrated into the learning experience, particularly in our Upper School (ages 11-adult) history and science programs. These include easily found textbooks, documentaries and films, and the like. These resources are not sold with the courses, though we generally offer suggestions as to where to easily locate and purchase them.  Often, links are now provided within courses to free sites where the materials are available for use.

The goal for the dedicated student who completes Connect The Thoughts is a thoroughly educated individual with a great knowledge of science, history, religion, economics, politics and the arts, one who is able to solve problems using their vast store of information, who communicates effectively and creatively in their writings, and who is prepared to succeed in the world.

If you find this goal aligns with your own goals, or the goals of your children, we may be the right curriculum for you!
